In 1968 Dick Kantner, an Aerospace Engineer backed
with nearly 20 years of experience developed and manufactured
composite aerospace and recreational parts. In addition
to the numerous Aerospace components he designed some
of the first graphite arrow shafts, golf shafts, bicycle
frames, and tennis rackets.
In the mid 1970's he focused his engineering skills on the fishing industry.
He designed and manufactured a superior line of Boron/Graphite blend rod blanks.
These "Boron Action" rods incorporated the best manufacturing techniques
and materials available at the time and rapidly became the choice of discriminating
professional fishermen and sportsmen the world over.
Today Hastings Rod Manufacturing LLC, makers of Graphite-USA
and United Rods rod blanks are again on the cutting
edge with our proprietary "Dual Helix" construction
techniques. Hastings Rod Manufacturing continues to
maintain the outstanding level of quality, design,
and manufacturing that our customers have come to expect.
