The rods produced by Hastings Rod Manufacturing meet all of the above requirements.

In mid seventies Dick Kantner pioneered the "Dual Helix" manufacturing process. Today Hastings Rod Manufacturing continues to lead the Industry with our "Dual Helix". We provide the fishing industry with rods that defy convention, by being: powerful, durable, strong, and yet light in weight.

Hastings Rod Manufacturing started with one line of rods, "Graphite-USA" and this year has introduced another line of revolutionary rods named "United Rods". We are often asked: "Which is a better rod?". First and foremost you can't go wrong with either "Graphite-USA" or "United Rods". The question is : "Which rod will work better for you?".

Due to the materials and the construction techniques used, United Rods have a different action than our Graphite-USA rods. Overall United Rods have a faster tip than the comparable model of Graphite-USA. Fishing techniques between fast tip and more parabolic rods, are slightly different. Which is better depends on personnel preference. It is recommended that fishermen who are moving from another rod manufacturer to Hastings Rod Manufacturing rods bring their old rods into a retailer who carries the Hasting Rod Manufacturing lineup and compare. If you are getting a custom rod made, be aware that your unfinished blank will feel much different than your finished custom or factory made rod.
